Modern organ recovery is more complicated each day, requiring proficiency with quickly evolving and complex technologies. Specialized capabilities are critical - from advanced perfusion techniques to expert management of the latest organ evaluation and preservation devices. The ProCure team has unparalleled experience in these highly specialized approaches to organ evaluation and preservation.

Oxygenated Cardioplegia Preservation

Oxygenated Cardioplegia Preservation (OCP) is a preservation technique where cold, oxygenated blood-preservation solution is delivered into the heart prior to explant. This is most often used in DCD settings, often where TA-NRP is not permitted, though OCP can be used more broadly after NRP, in the rapid DCD setting when NRP is restricted, or with BD donors as well.

  • OCP is done prior to the explant. The heart does not start beating, the temperature and mechanical setup prevent the heart from beating. There is no functional assessment performed. ProCure consults with the implanting surgeon and sends pictures and a video of anatomy.
  • A full team is sent to manage the heart recovery and OCP. That team includes a surgeon, assistant, and perfusionist.

Device User Support

Device users are responsible for continuous monitoring and management of the organ while it is on the device. ProCure can help ensure coverage by supplementing your internal resources or serving as your device user team when resources are already stretched thin.

  • Continuous organ monitoring and management
  • Supplemental support for internal teams
  • Dedicated device user coverage when resources are limited
