About this role

ProCure On-Demand is seeking Per Diem Device Users (DUs) to support the operation and management of the OrganOx metra machine perfusion system during donor organ recovery and transplantation process. This position is ideal for healthcare professionals seeking flexible, case-based work while contributing to the life-saving mission of organ transplantation. 

Per Diem Device Users are activated on an as-needed basis and may receive case opportunities with varying notice. The role involves travel to donor hospitals and transplant centers, operation of the OrganOx Metra device, clinical monitoring of preserved organs, and coordination with multidisciplinary transplant teams.

Essential Functions

  • Accept and respond to case opportunities based on individual availability

  • Travel to donor hospitals, transplant centers, and designated transportation hubs as assignesd

  • Prepare, prime, operate, monitor, and troubleshoot the OrganOx Metra machine perfusion system

  • Monitor organ preservation parameters and communicate findings to transplant teams as appropriate

  • Perform blood gas analysis and other required assessments during machine perfusion

  • Administer approved interventions according to established protocols and training

  • Complete all required documentation accurately and within designated timeframes

  • Maintain and transport equipment and supplies in accordance with organizational policies

  • Ensure compliance with sterile technique, infection prevention standards, and safety procedures

  • Collaborate effectively with procurement teams, transplant center personnel, transportation partners, and ProCure staff

  • Maintain readiness to travel and support cases in a professional and timely manner

  • Participate in required training, competency assessments, and continuing education activities

Qualifications

  •  Healthcare experience in a clinical environment preferred (Perfusion, Surgical First Assist, Surgical Technology, Nursing, Respiratory Therapy, EMT/Paramedic, or related field)

  • Previous experience in organ procurement, transplantation, critical care, or machine perfusion preferred but not required

  • Ability to learn and operate advanced medical equipment

  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work independently in high-pressure environments

  • Ability to travel, including overnight and weekend assignments

  • Valid driver’s license and ability to meet travel requirements

  • Commitment to patient safety, professionalism, and the mission of organ donation and transplantation

Schedule & Availability 

Per diem, case-based position.

  • Flexible scheduling based on individual availability and organizational needs.

  • Cases may occur during weekdays, nights, weekends, and holidays.

  • Travel is required and transportation arrangements are provided by the organization

Job Location: Nationwide

Compensation: Variable case pay
